Imagine the shock of ordering an drink at a Dunkin' Donuts in Massachusetts,Secret Confessions (2025) Spongkey Episode 44 only to receive it in an NFL-branded cup with an Eagles logo printed on the side.
That's either a dream or a nightmare depending on how you feel about the New England Patriots. But it's a reality that some Pats-loving Mass. residents have had to face in the aftermath of a mailing mix-up.
SEE ALSO: Dunkin' Donuts is releasing a coffee-inspired beerThe error was first reported by The Sun Chronicle. The local paper for Attleborough, Mass. came across a Facebook post in which a resident of the town complained about getting an Eagles cup from her local Dunkin'.
Other Massachusetts dwellers soon picked up on this egregious insult and investigated themselves.
For those who don't follow pro football: The Pats are widely reviled among football fans that don't have roots in Massachusetts because they have a pesky habit of getting to and then winning Super Bowls, especially in recent years.
It almost happened again last year, too: The Pats faced off against the Eagles, and while they put up a good fight the Philadelphia team won.
So now, think again to our example above: If you're a Pats fan who lives in Massachusetts, and your local Dunkin' hands you an Eagles-branded cup, you're probably pretty pissed, right? Especially with the coffee-and-donuts company itself being based in Canton, Mass.
Unsurprisingly, Dunkin' Donuts was quick to put any fears to rest that this might be some weird, completely unexpected trolling of Pats fans. The company told the Sunthat the Eagles cups ended up in the wrong place because of a mailing mix-up.
"We appreciate our loyal customers for bringing this to our attention, and we are taking steps to ensure all of our local stores are stocked with the correct cups. Go Pats," a Dunkin' statement read.
