In the books, pensieves are used to hold important memories that the witches and wizards of that world can revisit whenever they want. So, duffmanszalotofthings decided to recreate the object for his wife.

Pensieves are magical objects. In order to first access the pensieve, every wizard needs a wand. So he made her one, and tied it up in beautiful brown paper packaging.
