Students of all ages turned out by the thousands for the National School Walkout to protest gun violence and sex on a plane videorecognize the lives of the 17 people killed during the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. last month.
At 10 a.m. on Wednesday, kids left their classrooms behind and gathered in school yards, on playgrounds, in parking lots, and marched through streets across the country to participate in the powerful movement.
Some stood in silence for 17 minutes to honor the victims of the Florida tragedy, while others shouted chants for gun reform. All across the country students displayed powerful handmade signs.
