After the conclusion of the Dota 2Kiev Major this past weekend,Friend's Mother 4 (2025) tournament organizer PGL aired a bizarre video called "Girls of Kiev" with no context. The video -- a montage of random women attending the event -- has since been removed from YouTube and PGL issued an apology early this morning.

A PGL producer and showrunner who goes by the name BossmanCG on Reddit posted a public apology to the Dota 2community on behalf of PGL. Although they did not name the "Girls of Kiev" video outright, it's clear what the subject of this apology is:
Hello everyone,
As producer and showrunner, I want to apologize on behalf of PGL for airing the clip that closed the broadcast of the Kiev Major.
A lot of people were disappointed and the high expectations set for us were not met. We let you down, and the clip does not reflect PGL's values, team diversity or broadcast philosophy.
We have the utmost respect for the Dota 2community and, going forward, the video production workflow will be improved with additional checks and quality filters to ensure that mistakes like this will not happen again.

The apology comes three days after the video first aired and was published to YouTube.
Immediately after the video debuted, people took to Twitter to voice their opinions of the weird compilation of women. Evil Geniuses' Dota 2manager Phillip Aram called the video a "perv super cut."
The video in question was a compilation of women who attended the Major. It's clear some were aware that they were being filmed, but most of the other women in the crowd were caught off guard. With no context beside the video, it felt superficial and drew a clear line between women and men in the Dota community.
PGL did not respond to our request for comment.
