Gmail is Bengali Archivesgetting some brand new enterprise tools so users can get work done without even leaving their inboxes.
Google announced today it will introduce new Gmail add-ons for a slew of work productivity apps, including Trello, Asana, DocuSign, Intuit Quickbooks and Wrike. The apps work natively within Gmail, meaning that you won't have to leave your inbox to get any work done.
These add-ons are mostly aimed at business users looking to delegate tasks throughout their organizations or with freelancers — but everyday users might find some use for the new extensions, too. The add-ons are similar to functionality already available to other G Suite tools like Slides, Forms, Docs, and Sheets, keeping users within the Google ecosystem instead of forcing them to bounce between apps.
Google says that the new features work natively in Gmail once they've been added to your account. Just head to the top right corner of the inbox and hit the setting wheel and click "Get add-ons."
Here's how working with Trello works on desktop:
The functionality was originally introduced in a developers preview earlier this year, so add-ons aren't entirely new.
Developers can also create their own add-on apps for Gmail, which Google says will only have to be written once to work natively on web and Android versions of Gmail now. Google didn't mention when iOS functionality might be included, but a rep confirmed that the G Suite team is working with Apple to make it happen.
