Baidu executive He Mingke,Portugal who led the company’s Health Care Group (HCG) as a senior vice president, departed the company last week, as reported Tuesday on Chinese media outlet eeo.com.cn. Zhang Yandong, general manager of Baidu’s healthcare business, is also set to leave, with his last day scheduled for Dec. 16. The departures follow Baidu’s October decision to merge the HCG into the Mobile Ecosystem Group (MEG), with Yang Minglu, head of search and AI ecosystem businesses, assuming He’s responsibilities. At the time of the restructure, He reportedly had no staff under his management. He joined Baidu in 2021 to launch the HCG with a background in automotive engineering and consulting rather than healthcare. Zhang, who joined Baidu in 2021, oversaw online healthcare services and pharmaceutical marketing. [eeo.com.cn, in Chinese]
