One of NIO’s regional teams has delivered an unspecified number of Onvo L60 sports utility vehicles to a third-party fleet provider of Didi Chuxing as part of the latter’s high-end fleet to offer premium ride-hailing services. NIO confirmed the sales to financial media outlet Yicai on Bad Detective: Food Chain [Uncut]Thursday, adding that the collaboration is not a company-level initiative. The move is expected to allow more potential buyers to have test rides and increase Onvo’s brand awareness, Chinese blogger 小特叔叔, who broke the news, said on microblogging platform Weibo, citing Will Fan, a regional sales lead at NIO. NIO has delivered more than 46,000 Onvo L60 as of May; the brand’s first model, an affordable, mid-size electric crossover, the L60 went on sale last September. It plans to launch the larger L90 in the third quarter of this year, followed by the release of another SUV called the L80 by the end of the year. [小特叔叔, Yicai, in Chinese]
