It's time for the Jedi ... to ooh and blogs enemas eroticismahh over the Star Wars: The Last Jedibehind-the-scenes reel.
At D23 on Friday, Lucasfilm unveiled new footage from the set, and not a moment too soon. Check out the video above.
SEE ALSO: Oh, boy! Disney's bringing all the goodies from Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar to D23Ever since we finished watching the last Star Wars: The Last Jediteaser in April, we've been waiting for more details on the movie. After all, as was pointed out on the D23 stage, The Force Awakens"literally ended on a cliffhanger."
The upcoming film is directed by Rian Johnson and brings back all those new characters we met and fell for in The Force Awakens: Rey, Finn, Poe, Phasma, Hux, Kylo Ren, and, of course, the inimitable BB-8. Along with some of our favorite classic characters, like Luke, Chewie, and Leia (sob), and new folks played by Kelly Marie Tran, Benicio del Toro, and national treasure Laura Dern.
As you'd expect from Lucasfilm, details are all being kept very hush-hush for now. The big message that the cast and director Johnson kept driving home at D23? Expect the unexpected.
Well, that, and the notion that working on a Star Warsmovie really is as fun as it looks. Johnson good-naturedly teased Dern, who plays Vice Admiral Holdo in the movie, for making "pew pew" sounds when wielding her blaster during the production.
"People have asked me, why did you join Star Wars? Why do any of us join in Star Wars?" responded Dern. "The dream of our life was pretending to be in Star Wars, and now we are in Star Wars." She added, "But I didn't remember that I didn't have to say the words you say when you're eight."
Even veterans of the original Star Warsaren't immune to the thrill of exploring a galaxy far, far away. "You know, when I read the script, there were so many unexpected elements," said Mark Hamill. "Which is great in a Star Warsfilm, because it's getting harder and harder to bring new things to the table."
Star Wars: The Last Jediis in theaters December 15.
