Seals having a wander inland are Jelena Jensen Archivesan occasional occurrence, but this cub is perhaps a little too young to go walkabout.
Dee Knapp from Invercargill, New Zealand was looking for new lambs on his property when he saw what initially appeared to be an injured bird, reported the New Zealand Herald.

"Well blow me away, it's a baby seal in the middle of my paddock, in the middle of nowhere," Knapp told the newspaper.
"I'm 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) away from the nearest beach and 2 kilometres (1.24 miles) from the nearest river and I thought, what do we have here?"
Knapp called the Department of Conservation to check what to do, but was instructed to let nature take its course.
Not content with the answer, he took the seal back to shore at Blue Cliffs Beach, where it was released. Don't return too soon now, little dude.
