There's a whole host of iconic duos that have sex doll videosolidified a place in the history books, but there is no duo like DJ Khaled and Snapchat.
DJ Khaled galvanized the way the social platform was used this year, and it turns out their relationship is headed a step further in the coming months.
Mashablehas exclusively learned that the Miami producer will be partnering up with BET Networks and education-focused nonprofit Get Schooled to support high school seniors in navigating path towards college—all via Snapchat and text messaging.
The education and technology focused non-profit Get Schooled will broadcast tours of over 20 different campuses across the nation via Snapchat through the end of 2016.
St. John's University, Howard University, UCLA, University of Kansas and Spelman College are just a few of the schools to be featured three to four times a week on the account, getschooledsnap.
"Snapchat removes barriers and gives young people a front row seat at life’s experiences, I am excited that I can advise college students on how to give the best Snapchat college tours so students can share college life with high school kids who are eager to know more about campuses when deciding where to apply," said DJ Khaled in a press release.
Get Schooled reports that one in five college-bound students surveyed had never visited a campus, despite 93 percent who were expected to attend.
"This is a major KEY so the youth can make the right choices and succeed," explained DJ Khaled, who will be making occasional appearances in the student-led Snapchat tours.
As seen above in the University of Pennsylvania snapchat, users have a chance to see campus landmarks, different buildings and dormitories. High school students have the opportunity to ask questions before the tours begin as well. The Culinary Institute of America and University of Arizona tours have already occurred, and have been archived on the Get Schooled site.
“More high school seniors than ever before recognize the importance of getting an education beyond high school, but many are lacking the information and know-how to successfully earn a post-secondary degree," Get Schooled's executive director Marie Groark stated.
To address that, these tours are just a portion of Get Schooled's comprehensive College Application Campaign to support low-income students with various resources. The organization will be helping students build personal statements and provide personalized college advice via text-message support from a college counselor.
